COMPETITION INFORMATION

The 2005 Under 18 NZ Inter Zone Championships are to be held over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of October in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Two grades will be held, Girls and Boys.

Teams can have a maximum of 10 players only. Caps numbers must be supplied as this tournament is used by the NZ Squad Selectors as the selection event for all the NZ Squads. These squads will be named at the tournament prize-giving.

All players must be registered on the UWHNZ Player Database by having paid their affiliation levies. You can check players are registered on the club register located in the membership area of the UWHNZ website.

The tournament will also incorporate an educational presentation by NZ Sports Drug Agency and it is a possibility that random drug testing will be conducted during the championships. Prime Minister Scholarship holders should take note.

Zones must supply 2 qualified L2 referees (non playing) or send at least 2 members on the Level 2 Referees course. The Championships will be used as a training course for Level 2 Referees as the matches are run to full international rules except for team composition.

All girls teams need to be at the pool by 8am, and all boys teams need to be there by 9am.

COMPETITION DETAILS

When: Saturday 22 October to 1pm Sunday 23 October 2005
Where: QEII Aquatic Centre, Christchurch
Team Entries Due: Saturday 1 October 2005
Entry Fee: $450 per team (includes supporter passes)
Captains, Coaches and Refs meeting: 7:45am, Large meeting room Downstairs at QEII. Gear Inspection & Pool Passes Received. Teams provide 2 WR and CR plus scorers. Volunteer Refs provide 3rd water referee were possible.
